My Journey with Alopecia & Hair Loss
My name is Megan and I have diffuse alopecia. My hair loss started after becoming unwell with Covid. I remember noticing my hair falling out in clumps, along with intense scalp pain that spread across my head and down my back. While the physical symptoms eventually eased, the emotional impact of hair loss stayed with me. Like so many women experiencing alopecia and hair loss, I felt overwhelmed, exposed, and unsure where to turn. I felt so isolated and alone, as there was very little support available on the Isle of Man. That’s what pushed me to create Embrace Wigs.
A Safe Supportive Space
As a wig wearer myself, I understand the importance of finding the right wig or topper. My aim is to create a safe space, whether that is due to alopecia, chemotherapy treatment for cancer, thyroid issues, increased shedding after starting GLP-1s… or any other reason. I’m here to help you feel comfortable and supported along every step of your hair loss journey.

Embrace Wigs is based on the Isle of Man. Offering private, discreet in-person wig consultations in a comfortable and supportive setting. I also provide virtual wig consultations for clients across the UK, so you can access expert guidance wherever you are.
My consultations are designed to feel more personal than an online shop and far more private than a traditional wig salon environment. You’ll never feel exposed, just supported every step of the way.
During your consultation, we take accurate head measurements and guide you through everything you need to know, including choosing between wigs and toopers, human hair and synthetic wigs, different cap constructions, and colours that complement your skin tone. We also focus on finding the best option to suit your lifestyle, so your wig feels natural, comfortable, and truly you.
If you attend an in-person consultation on the Isle of Man, you’ll have the opportunity to try on a selection of wigs, helping you feel confident in your choice before making a decision. If I don’t have what you’re looking for immediately, I can order what you need from my range of fantastic suppliers.
